Geoff Shepard at the Eighth Circuit's Judicial Conference in Fargo, NDGeoff participated in a panel presentation, “A Case Study on Legal Ethics from the Watergate Prosecutions: Lessons on the Perils of Ex Parte Communication,” on July 12, 2017 at the Eighth Circuit’s Judicial Conference in Fargo, ND.

The panel was moderated by Judge Andrew Guilford of District of Central California and Professor Laurie Levenson, Chair of Ethical Advocacy at Loyola Law School. The panel discussed eight separate instances of private meetings between Watergate Judge John Sirica and prosecutors or other interested parties that occurred prior to the Watergate cover-up trials of John Mitchell, Bob Haldeman and John Ehrlichman — meetings that Shepard maintains denied those defendants any semblance of a fair trial.
